Ring Cosmic Dust - Stellar Genesis

This unconventional unique ring explores the formation phase of a celestial body and translates it into a sculptural jewelry design.

At the heart of the design is an exceptionally large 10.88ct Mexican fire opal. Its natural, irregular freeform has been preserved through precise polishing. Depending on the light and movement, the stone displays a deep, multifaceted play of color, flowing from orange and yellow to subtle green tones.

A deliberate contrast to the opal's smooth surface is formed by the organically structured ring band made of 14kt mid-gold. The precious metal was precisely heated and seared with artisanal precision, stopping the melting process at exactly the right moment. The resulting relief-like texture gives the ring its unmistakable, raw character. The band is finely accented by selectively set 0.1ct orange sapphires and white diamonds (TWVSI), which provide a fine, subtle sparkle against the matte gold.
